to BK Wines
BK Wines is a small single vineyard wine producer based in the Adelaide Hills which specialises in minimal interactive wines. We use indigenous yeast and the finest French Oak to complement the unique Terrior and sites of the Adelaide Hills.
Established in 2007, by Winemaker Brendon Keys and good mate Zane Scott, who are both young and passionate New Zealanders excited about the prospects and diversity of the Adelaide Hills, as such a young wine region.
Brendon has worked in a variety of exciting countries including New Zealand, Australia, Sonoma Valley California, and Mendoza Argentina. His love of good food, music and travel has lead to a natural progression and interest in wine, and we hope this love is portrayed in our wines through attention to detail.

A pale yellow hue, well balanced wine showing flavours of pear, pineapple and white peach. Buttery tones this wine is fresh and clean with tight acid. Nicely integrated with 70 percent new French Oak. Aged for 11 mths on Lees has given it depth and complexity, with subtle flavours of Almond, Honeycomb and Popcorn.
A great indication of a cool climate Chardonnay. A young wine with huge aging potential, 10 - 12yrs.

On the nose, BK Jean Bernard Syrah evokes the rich, stewed, mixed wild berries of a summer pudding, lifted with scents of clove and white pepper. On the palate the wine is dark ripe blackberries, black licorice and pepper with hints of mandarin pith. This is a tightly structured, full-bodied wine with a rustic, Old World soul. On the nose, BK Jean Bernard Syrah evokes the rich, stewed, mixed wild berries of a summer pudding, lifted with scents of clove and white pepper. BK 2009 La Bombe de Belle - Pinot Noir
BK 2009 La Bombe Pinot Noir is plush garnet velvet to the eye. On the nose the wine is wild, intense and multi-layered, opening with rich, ripe black cherries, peppered meat, almonds and cedar. With time in the glass the aromas lift with scents of freshly cut green herbs and wild strawberries. On the palate this weighty, structured wine is – as the name implies – a mouth-filling, luscious plum and cherry explosion. Attractive hints of green tannin from the whole-bunch pressing remain, adding further complexity to the middle palate. This bold, full-bodied interpretation of Pinot Noir is a big, beautiful wine today that will mellow to become darkly elegant over the next seven to ten years.
Only 200 cases produced.
Made exclusively from single-vineyard, Adelaide Hills grapes, dry-grown and handpicked from low-yielding vines resulting in a luscious, intense wine. Whole-bunch pressing was employed to gently extract the purest fruit characters. The wine was barrel fermented in 30% new oak with wild yeasts and the lees stirred on occasion to produce a soft, mouth-filling texture.
On the nose the wine displays an attractive mix of orange marmalade, beeswax and hints of cloves and jasmine blossoms. The palate is rounded and velvety with classic Pinot Gris savouriness and the flavour of mandarins, pears and spice.

BK 2008 Chou Chou - Gewurztraminer
Single vineyard, hand picked, minimal fining, whole bunch pressed, minimal interaction.
Fermented in stainless tanks and stored on lees for 1 month with an extended fermentation to maintain aromatics and cooler climate fruit characteristics.
Bouquet of delicate rose petals and hints of citrus, again the mouth compliments the nose. Superb fruit sweetness with Turkish delights and lychee. Well balanced, good acid and a spicey length that 18 months in bottle compliments.

With the winter reds we have decided to release our 2009 Syrah and have big bash. Come and join us on 25th July 2010. While you are there enjoy the goat cooked on the Argentinian BBQ washed down with our 2009 Syrah....Fantastic!! See you at our cellar door.
